Hey, I'm Kat!

Originally from Germany, Kat moved to Brisbane in 2015. After having been involved in the fitness industry since 2008, she completed her Certificate IV of Fitness at the Australian Institute of Fitness in Jan 2016 and founded Katalyst Strength

Kat's own fitness and health journey started by initially losing more than 40 kg of body fat over a three year period, through educating herself on nutrition and fitness and putting in the hard work at the gym. Somewhere down the track her original goal had shifted from just wanting to lose the weight, to gaining muscle mass and becoming the strongest version of herself. This sparked her deep appreciation and passion for barbell based resistance training.


Throughout her years of experience Kat tried out different ways of training: from Bodybuilding, Crossfit, Spartan Obstacle Courses, Olympic Weightlifting, to competing in Powerlifting competitions.  
 

Kat specialises in strength training and barbell based resistance training. Utilising her knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and barbell mechanics, as well as her own experience under the bar, she tailors her coaching sessions specifically around her clients; catering to women and men of any age and fitness level. 

Kat is a big believer of the long term, sustainable approach to achieving her clients'  fitness and strength goals. Together with a network of other allied health professionals, like dieticians and physiotherapists, she educates and trains her clients to be independent, confident and most importantly, the best version of themselves. 

 

Qualifications include:

  • Cert III & IV Fitness

  • ASCA lvl 1

  • Club Weightlifting/Sports Power lvl 1

  • Pre/Post Natal

  • First Aid & CPR

When Kat isn't training her clients or lifting something heavy in the gym, you can usually find her either at the next coffee shop or riding her motorbike.
